The Project

The first stage of plans to develop an iconic community park in South Hedland are progressing rapidly. The park will feature a range of unique aquatic characteristics, along with modern pieces of artistic sculptures, free-formed play areas, and innovative playground equipment, which aim to maximise safe and inclusive play.

How can you contribute?

Extensive community consultation will offer the Town of Port Hedland feedback on proposals, and all comments received will be collated in the community consultation report and will assist in the selection of a final design for Stage 1 works.

What you can do

Please complete and submit your comments in the comments area below to help us identify priority features to be constructed during Stage 1.

You may wish to use the draft concept design located inside the information brochure to assist with your response, or help give you some ideas of what you would like to see constructed in the Park.

Initial concept designs of the Park have incorporated many themes of the Port Hedland area, including mangroves, the coastline, salt pans, tidal creeks, the harbor and the many textures, colours and patterns of the surrounding land.

Some of the features identified for inclusion are listed below. Please prioritise the areas below that should be included in Stage 1 of the new park development rating them from 1-15:
